Blue Chalk worked with Travel Oregon to produce a short film that would highlight Freeland Spirits, a women-owned and run distillery in Portland, Oregon.
Owner Jill Kuehler’s goal was to make Freeland Spirits a welcoming place where all people could enjoy its Oregon-made gin and bourbon.
In this film, we learn more about how Kuehler and master distiller, Molly Troupe, work with women-owned local farmers to source ingredients for their flavor-filled spirits. We also discover how they partner with other women-owned local businesses across Oregon with the goal of building a more inclusive world.

Portland State University Foundation commissioned Blue Chalk Media to create an anthem film to represent the largest fundraising campaign in the school’s history, “Let Knowledge Serve: The Campaign for PSU.” The film features eight students performing a script that tells the story of the school—from its establishment as the Vanport Extension Center in 1946, to its current standing as one of the largest universities in Oregon. Accompanied by a mix of archival stills and cinematic visuals from the urban campus, the story of Portland State University is brought to life through the voices of its own students. Blue Chalk produced two versions of “Let Knowledge Serve.” The first was a triptych version created for a three-screen presentation at the Simon Benson Awards Dinner that played in front of an audience of over 1200 people. The second is a single-screen version designed for the campaign's website.

For the fourth year in a row, the Oregon School Boards Association (OSBA) hired Blue Chalk Media to work on the "Promise of Oregon" campaign. This year, the campaign focused on the importance of graduation. The second video for the year four campaign centers around the Sabin-Schellenberg Professional Technical Center in the North Clackamas School District. The video follows high school senior, Krista Ashbaugh, as she prepares for college with the help of her CTE Health and Sciences mentor, Nurse Gray. About The Promise of Oregon Campaign: Since 2014, Blue Chalk has traveled throughout Oregon to create a diverse array of still portraits and videos for The Promise of Oregon, a statewide campaign created to encourage a groundswell of support for investing in public education. So far we have taken nearly 800 portraits of Oregon's young people, "Promise Kids," who will define the direction of the state as the next generation's leaders. The campaign highlights one “Promise Kid” each school day on the homepage of the website, and across social media. The digital effort includes branding, a robust WordPress site, and a digital strategy for building and growing the campaign on social media and email. In addition to creative work, Blue Chalk provided new tools and training to the OSBA communications team. When we invest in our schools, we invest in our future. We are proud to be a part of the Oregon School Boards Association’s efforts to prioritize education.
